It is extremely vexing! I also have two friends who don't think I'm pathetic for being such an obsessive! (Of course, I have far more who think I'm nuts, but that's another story.) One of 'em is a Dwiggie, and the other loves Jeremy Northam as much as I do. I have 3 copies of P&P, two of Emma and one of the rest, except Northanger Abbey. (Actually, I was probably the only one who read it at all.) I've got the video of P&P2, and have taped Emma & S&S off the telly. I really love Jane Austen (obviously, or I wouldn't be here.) The first book of hers I read was P&P, when I was the only one of a class of thirty who enjoyed it. :-) My dog is a golden cocker spaniel that reminds me sooooo much of Charles Bingley from P&P2 that I have to keep reminding myself his name is Benjy. My brother is 12, and the bane of my existence, but there'sa not much I can do about him save homicide, and I'm not that kind of person.GBH, maybe. I have a mammy, a daddy, a brother and a dog.

"Janey Mac" is an expression of suprise here in Ireland- there's even a little rhyme that goes "'Janey Mac me shirt is black/ What'll I do for Sunday?'/'Go to bed and cover your head/ And don't get up until Monday'" Aoife is, but I figured the vowel:consonant ratio might be too much for people to handle :-). Well, for a start, Janey Mac isn't my name. Thank you for this site, for the friendships formed and inspiration given, and for energizing me enough to try my own hand at writing. Through the pleasure of reading the stories from our group of authors (whose work beats out just about every published sequel to JA's stories) I became an avid reader again. Then I found this wonderful circle of friends. Austen's works for the first time after catching the rebroadcast of PP2. I was the shy quiet one in school then something happened in my senior year and I haven't stopped talking since! I am playing catch-up on reading and confess to reading Ms. Flowers and landscaping are sacred blessings for me but I oft times wish for a housekeeper. I also love to travel the States and try to capture the nuances of communities through bed & breakfasts versus hotels along the interstate. Love baseball (GO BRAVES!) and hockey (Thanks for the memories, GREAT ONE!). I play tennis, love to ride (though no longer own horses), learning piano, have a broad base of musical tastes (?), from classical (Gymnopedies), piano (Jim Brickman, Danny Wright), R&B(Chakka, Teddy, Marvin), Reggae (UB40, Jimmy Buffet), folk (Nanci Griffith, James Taylor) to Country (Marty Stuart, Allison Krauss, Mary Chapin-Carpenter). What else? I love to bake desserts and cookies for family and friends. There are 3 canines that welcome me to their home everyday (for I know I just pay the bills). Make a lifetime commitment to your four-legged friend.

Let me use this forum to say "Just Fix 'em!" if you have pets. I have volunteered in various organizations but the bulk of my time's been spent with animal advocacy. I am truly one of the lucky ones who enjoys going to work. Speaking of which, I work in government for an elected official, and have for the past 17 years (which I find absolutely amazing!). My boss is from Ohio so we have had some banter during collegiate football season. Well, I am a transplant to Florida (23 years now!), originally from Michigan and still root for the Wolverines in Seminole territory.
